Inspired by our bffs Night of Joy’s big update post, I FINALLY made it to a working computer to let you know what we are up to!
We played/organized/bonded/freaked out at Titwrench Fest and it ruled. You can hear & download our whole set online at The Flat Response. Awesome! And, according to a complicated math problem, we are the 71st best band in Denver.
We have lots of totally stellar shows coming up, too!
This Sunday, July 25, we are stoked to play The UMS! We play at 3 p.m. at the TS Board Shop.
What else? UHHH
Our Portland friends Guantanamo Baywatch (who we played with on tour) are coming to town July 27 @ Bar Bar! This show is gonna rule.
The very next day, July 28, we play with Happy Birthday and Residual Echoes at the Hi-Dive! Eee, exciting!
Then on August 8, we play with our brothers Thee Goochi Boiz & The Vicious Women + BOB LOG III at the Larimer Lounge BBQ!
Oookay that’s about all I can handle right now. I’ll leave you with a link to a kind of goofy interview we did with the Westword, and tell you to pick up our buddy Sara Century’s new, awesome zine for another interview with us. I’m not exactly sure how to buy them, so instead you will just have to go to all of Ms. Century’s shows and stalk her until she gives you one.
YAY

Eryc Eyl at the Denver Post wrote some nice words about Lust-Cats today! Check it out, along with a free download of “Nothing Cool Happens On Dates”::::::::::::
We’ve got one last left turn for you to follow as we unveil a track from Lust-Cats of the Gutters. The Denver garage rock duo — featuring former Reverb writer Robin Edwards on guitar, current Reverb writer Alex Edgeworth on drums and both women on vocals — recently returned from a west coast tour and will be playing the Larimer Lounge tonight, Rhinoceropolis on April 26 and the hi-dive on April 27.
The pair’s hard-hitting, girl-power rock draws on a long line of influences — from the Shangri-Las to the Runaways, Kim Gordon and Kathleen Hanna — but manages to inject plenty of fresh ideas and raw power into the stripped-down aesthetic. “Nothing Cool Happens on Dates” is taken from a recent cassette release on Teen Pass Out, the label started by Bree Davies and Valerie Franz of Night of Joy, who are also featured on the cassette, along with Boulder’s Thee Goochi Boiz.
P.S. We will also be playing the Denver Post’s Underground Music Showcase this summer!! Stay tuned for details…

Everett True had some super nice things to say about us on his blog:
Lust-Cats of the Gutters will never be this great again. Their music thrashes all over the place – in a nasty, tinny, tuneful, vivid way – recalling luminaries as Raincoats, Shaggs, Beat Happening, Ramones (they do a mind-bendingly brilliantly minimal cover of ‘Judy Is A Punk’), Petticoats (all together now, “Sometimes I wish I was a normal…”) and broken fingernails painted red raking their way across your back in the throes of passion. This, you know, is all entirely unintentional, and as soon some idiot designer comes along with instructions on how to ‘be proper’ they’re going to lose every last iota of their considerable charm.
But right now, they’re just about the greatest thing I’ve heard. Immaculate dress sense too.
For now, I’ll link you to their MySpace page and suggest that ‘Housewife With A Loose Grip On Reality’ is the song to listen to, the moment of broken diamond genius. Hopefully, an MP3 will be on its way from Denver shortly – I know you all are as damn lazy as me as far as consuming music in web 2.0 environments goes.
EEEE!!!
